After the success of Taken and Gran Torino, Hollywood has been on a vigilante kick. And right now, Bryan Singer (along with studio execs all over town) has been seriously considering getting his revenge on with The Prisoners, a much-sought-after thriller script to which Mark Wahlberg is attached to star as a Boston dad who takes the law into his own hands when his young daughter is kidnapped. The screenplay, which has been compared to The Silence of the Lambs and Seven, has been buzzed about as a calling card for its unknown writer, Aaron Guzikowski, and as a rare project targeted at adult audiences but with real commercial potential. When asked whether The Prisoners will be his next movie, Singer told EW: 'I don't know yet. But I'm definitely intrigued. It's a great script. And I'd love to work with Mark.' source: EW

Red Band Trailer: ‘Friends With Benefits’

Screen Gems has released a red band teaser trailer for their upcoming comedy Friends with Benefits, which is the other movie with that same title, as No Strings Attached had to change theirs, but both of them pretty much have the same plot anyway. Friends with Benefits stars Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis. Also starring Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone, Patricia Clarkson, Andy Samberg.

A relationship between two friends (Timberlake/Kunis) gets complicated when they decide to go romantic.

Friends with Benefits is directed by Will Gluck, who broke into directing with Fired Up and this year’s Easy A. The screenplay was cowritten by Gluck as well as newcomers Keith Merryman and David A. Newman (both of an upcoming TV movie called Mystery Girl). Screen Gems is bringing Friends with Benefits to theaters everywhere on July 22nd, 2011 next summer
