Marvel Studios debuted The Avengers teaser trailer this morning, giving you a nice full look at the superhero team up in action as Joss Whedon brings together Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner and Samuel L. Jackson to tell the story of how Iron Man, Captain America, the Hulk, Thor, Black Widow and Hawkeye saved the world.

The Killing Joke is a 15 minute suspense/fiction short film about a mysterious woman that finds a red balloon tied up to a curious little box on an eery derelict street. Using classic elements of suspense and working within a seventies aesthetic, ‘The Killing Joke’ is an action packed film that pays homage to some of the horror movies from that era.

The piece was shot during four intense days of filming in the Argentinian capital Buenos Aires. The micro budget production was shot using just two 7d canon cameras. The composition and CGI effects for ‘The Killing Joke’ required months of ‘invisible’ digital retouching to create the panoramic, yet claustrophobic atmosphere that pervades throughout the movie.

Sebastián López wrote and directed the story, and was also responsible for all the impressive post and composition work.

Colin Devlin created the Original Soundtrack, working from his home studio in LA he collaborated on the project with Sebastian from it’s inception, creating a wonderful striking symmetry between sound and image.This is the second collaboration for Sebastian and Colin, the first being an action packed trailer created for a fictitious movie called ‘Vertical’ that went viral on the net, creating a serious buzz for the young director.

Actors Gustavo Marzo and Clarisa Staracci Worked together to portray the intense characters seen on screen.

The Killing Joke was a work of entire dedication and effort.

First Trailer for ‘The Rum Diary’ Starring Johnny Depp

Based on the Hunter S. Thompson novel, The Rum Diary, directed by Bruce Robinson (Jennifer 8), follows Depp as Paul Kemp, a divorced alcoholic and struggling novelist who decides to “kick around” in San Juan until his ship comes in, working as a journalist for a newspaper that’s on its last legs, drinking “gallons of rum” and experimenting with LSD. With his new friend Bob Sala by his side, Kemp becomes entangled in a corrupt hotel development scheme with a PR consultant named Sanderson. After quite a delay, FilmDistrict will finally be releasing The Rum Diary in theaters starting October 28th this fall.

Universal Pictures and Working Title are out with a new trailer for Johnny English Reborn, played by Rowan Atkinson. Rosamund Pike and Dominic West also star. The film will be released October 28. Directed by Oliver Parker.

Relativity Media is up with a trailer for Machine Gun Preacher, the Marc Forster-directed drama that’s based on the true story of Sam Childers, a rough guy who changed his life and found purpose in establishing a haven for Sudanese children. Gerard Butler, Michelle Monaghan and Michael Shannon star in the film that will be released Sept. 23.
